About Us

Anyango Mpinga is a Kenyan interdisciplinary artist and designer working at the intersection of fashion, visual storytelling, and social impact. Her practice is rooted in a commitment to circular design, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship, using fashion as both a canvas and a catalyst for systemic change.

Guided by a deep reverence for heritage craft and material integrity, Anyango creates bespoke garments, mixed media artworks, and experiential installations that explore themes of displacement, resilience, and collective memory. Her work champions the use of recycled textiles, upcycled materials, and regenerative production techniques, reimagining waste as a resource and beauty as a form of resistance.

Through her nonprofit initiative, Free As A Human, she advocates for the end of human trafficking and modern slavery, using design and education to empower survivors and amplify their stories. Her creative philosophy bridges aesthetic excellence with climate consciousness, positioning art and fashion as tools for planetary healing.

Her work has been featured in Forbes, Vogue, Elle, CNN, WWD, and more, and she was recognized on a Times Square billboard as an Honoree of the Conscious Fashion Campaign.
