Atum

The Atum Bag from the Faces of the Earth collection draws inspiration from the ceremonial masks of the Sukuma people of Tanzania, who represent one half of ANYANGO's heritage. Long associated with storytelling, protection, and ancestral presence, these masks inform the spirit of each piece.

Handcrafted from natural raffia and embroidered with imagery translated directly from ANYANGO's original paintings, every bag is created by hand and no two are ever exactly alike. Variations in the weave, embroidery, and finish are celebrated as part of each bag's unique character.

The Atum Bag takes its name from the Egyptian creator god Atum, whose story begins at the dawn of creation. It is a tribute to the spark of possibility, the courage to begin, and the creative force that shapes new worlds.

Each bag is handcrafted by artisans and embroidered by hand using natural raffia. Please allow 6–8 weeks for creation and delivery.
