The Lotus Bag from the Faces of the Earth collection draws inspiration from the ceremonial masks of the Sukuma people of Tanzania, who represent one half of ANYANGO's heritage. Long associated with storytelling, protection, and ancestral presence, these masks inform the spirit of each piece.

Handcrafted from natural raffia and embroidered with imagery translated directly from ANYANGO's original paintings, every bag is created by hand and no two are ever exactly alike. Variations in the weave, embroidery, and finish are celebrated as part of each bag's unique character.

The Lotus Bag draws inspiration from the sacred lotus flower of ancient Egypt, a symbol of rebirth, enlightenment, and the unfolding of life. Rising each day from the water to meet the sun, it represents the journey of renewal, the promise of new beginnings, and the enduring power of transformation.

Each bag is handcrafted by artisans and embroidered by hand using natural raffia. Please allow 6–8 weeks for creation and delivery.
